(a)As an alternative means to satisfy the experience requirements of this Part, applicants may complete a Practical Applications of Real Estate Appraisal (PAREA) program. PAREA programs must be approved by the Appraiser Qualification Board (AQB), or any successor body recognized by Federal law, utilize simulated experience training including, but not limited to computer-based learning; video gaming; video tutorial; virtual assistant; and virtual reality training, and serve as an alternative to the traditional Supervisor/Trainee experience model to qualify as Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) compliant experience. (b) Applicants who complete a Licensed Residential PAREA program may apply their certificate of completion in the following ways: (1) A Licensed Residential PAREA certificate of completion may satisfy up to 100 percent of the required experience hours for the Licensed Residential classification. (2) A Licensed Residential PAREA certificate of completion may satisfy up to 67 percent of the required experience hours for the Certified Residential classification. (3) A Licensed Residential PAREA certificate of completion may satisfy up to 33 percent of the required experience hours for the Certified General classification, none of which is eligible towards the required nonresidential hours. (c) Participants who complete a Certified Residential Practical Applications of Real Estate Appraisal program may apply their certificate of completion in the following ways: (1) A Certified Residential PAREA certificate of completion may satisfy up to 100 percent of the required experience hours for the Licensed Residential classification. (2) A Certified Residential PAREA certificate of completion may satisfy up to 100 percent of the required experience hours for the Certified Residential classification. (3) A Certified Residential PAREA certificate of completion may satisfy up to 50 percent of the required experience hours for the Certified General classification, none of which is eligible towards the required nonresidential hours. (d) An applicant that meets the requirements of this section shall submit to the Department of State a certificate of completion from the provider of an AQB approved PAREA program.
